How to Copy a Pinterest Video Link

Open the Pinterest app and find the video Pin whose link you want to copy.

Open the individual Pin.

Use the sharing control associated with the Pin and select Copy link.

The Pinterest Pin URL is copied to your phone's clipboard.

After copying the link, open the Pinterest Video Downloader, paste the URL into the input field, and process the Pin.

Open the Pinterest app on your iPhone and select the individual video Pin.

Use the Pin's sharing option and choose Copy link.

The Pinterest video link is then stored temporarily in the iPhone clipboard.

How to Paste a Pinterest Video Link on iPhone

If Paste does not appear, copy the Pinterest video link again and return to the downloader.

How to Paste a Pinterest Link on Android

Open the downloader in your browser.

Press or tap the URL input field until the Paste option appears.

The important attribute is not simply that the URL contains pinterest.com or pin.it.

The URL must resolve to the specific Pin you want to process.

A pin.it URL is a shortened Pinterest sharing link.

Instead of displaying the complete Pinterest Pin address, it redirects the user to a Pinterest destination.

For example:

https://pin.it/...

can redirect to an individual Pin URL.

The relationship is:

pin.it Short Link → Redirect → Pinterest Pin

A short Pinterest link is therefore not automatically an incorrect link.

What matters is whether it resolves to the intended individual Pin.

A supported pin.it link can be processed when it correctly redirects to a publicly accessible individual Pinterest Pin.

If the short URL fails, open it in your browser first.

After Pinterest redirects you to the Pin, copy the resulting full Pinterest URL and submit that version instead.

This helps separate a short-link resolution problem from a video availability problem.

Open the shortened pin.it URL in your browser.

Allow the redirect to complete.

Then:

1. Confirm that the intended Pin has opened.
2. Select the browser address bar.
3. Copy the complete Pinterest URL.
4. Paste the full URL into the Pinterest Video Downloader.

If Pinterest opens a feed, profile, board, or different Pin instead, the short link does not identify the video you intended to process.

Open a new browser tab and paste the copied URL into the address bar.

Load the page.

The URL should return to the same individual Pinterest video Pin you intended to process.

Use this sequence:

Copied URL → Open URL → Verify Pin → Process URL

If the URL loads something else, copy the link again from the correct Pin.

This simple check can identify several common problems before you use the downloader.

A Pinterest Pin link identifies one Pin.

A Pinterest board link identifies a collection of Pins.

These URLs represent different entities.

If you found the video inside a board, do not copy the board URL when you want to download one video.

Instead:

1. Open the board.
2. Select the video Pin.
3. Open that Pin individually.
4. Copy the individual Pin URL.

A Pinterest profile represents an account containing Pins, boards, and other information.

A profile URL does not identify one specific Pinterest video.

If the video is visible on a creator's profile:

Its URL represents the feed, not the individual video displayed within it.

Open the video Pin first.

Then copy the individual Pin URL.

This keeps the relationship clear:

Home Feed → Video Pin → Pin URL

rather than:

Home Feed URL → Expected Video

A Pinterest Pin may contain a link to an external website.

That website URL and the Pinterest Pin URL are different links with different purposes.

For example:

Pinterest Pin URL

identifies the Pin on Pinterest.

Destination URL

may lead to the website associated with the Pin.

When using a Pinterest video downloader, copy the Pinterest Pin URL containing the video rather than an unrelated external destination link.

Pinterest can generate shortened URLs when content is shared.

The shorter URL is easier to send through messaging apps, social media, or other sharing methods.

A shortened Pinterest link does not need to contain the complete Pin path because the redirect identifies the destination.

However, full Pin URLs can be easier to inspect and troubleshoot because the final Pinterest destination is visible directly.

If a pin.it link creates a problem, use the full Pin URL instead.

A copied Pinterest link can fail even when the Pinterest website itself is working normally.

You Copied the Board URL

A board represents multiple Pins rather than one video.

Open the individual video Pin and copy its URL instead.

You Copied a Profile URL

A profile identifies a Pinterest account.

Open the video from that profile and copy the individual Pin URL.

You Copied a Pinterest Search URL

A search URL identifies search results.

Open the selected video Pin before copying its link.

You Copied the Wrong Pin

Paste the copied URL into a new browser tab.

If another Pin opens, return to Pinterest and copy the correct video Pin link.

The Link Was Copied Incompletely

A URL can fail when part of the link is missing.

Copy the link again directly from Pinterest instead of manually typing or reconstructing it.

The pin.it Link Does Not Redirect Correctly

Open the short link in a browser.

If it reaches the intended Pin, copy the final full Pinterest URL.

If it does not reach the intended Pin, obtain a new link from Pinterest.

The Pin Is Private or Restricted

Having the URL does not necessarily mean the Pin is publicly accessible.

A private or restricted Pinterest Pin remains subject to its access permissions.

Copying its link does not remove those restrictions.

The Pinterest Pin Was Deleted

A Pin URL can continue to exist in messages, bookmarks, clipboard histories, or other locations after its content becomes unavailable.

If the Pin has been removed, the old URL may no longer return usable video media.

A phone can associate Pinterest URLs with the installed Pinterest app.

As a result, tapping a Pinterest link may open Pinterest automatically rather than keeping the Pin inside the browser.

This does not necessarily indicate a problem with the URL.

The URL and the application used to open it are separate attributes.

To obtain the browser URL, open the Pin in a browser and copy the address after the individual Pin page loads.

First confirm that the original link was copied from the intended individual Pin.

A short link can redirect, an old shared link can point elsewhere, or the wrong Pin may have been selected before copying.

Verify the link independently:

1. Copy the link.
2. Open a private/incognito or new browser tab.
3. Paste the URL.
4. Load it.
5. Check the Pin that appears.

If the wrong Pin opens before you even use the downloader, the problem belongs to the copied link rather than the download process.

A valid Pin URL does not guarantee that the Pin exposes a standard downloadable video.

The Pin may:

• actually contain an image;
• expose an image preview;
• contain unavailable video media;
• point to different content than expected;
• have changed since the link was copied.

Verify the original Pin before trying the URL again.
