Quality notes
- The largest tier is the largest file Pinterest kept after processing. It is not always camera RAW or print resolution.
- Older pins sometimes top out around 736 pixels because that was Pinterest’s limit when they were uploaded.
- Right-click Save on pinterest.com often grabs a mid-size preview. This tool aims higher when a larger file exists.

What “original” means on a Pinterest image pin
Pinterest stores several sizes of the same image so feeds load quickly. The largest kept version is the one designers usually want. Smaller sizes power the board grid and related pins.
Pinterest Video Downloader labels the tier you are about to save. If you need exact pixel dimensions for a client file, open the downloaded image properties after saving.

JPG, WebP, and what Pinterest changes
Many newer pins download as WebP. Most modern design tools open WebP without drama. If yours does not, convert the file locally after download.
Pinterest also recompresses uploads. A crisp PNG you saw on another site may arrive here as JPG or WebP. That conversion happens on Pinterest’s side, not ours.
Moodboards and reference libraries
Interior designers, wedding planners, brand teams, and students often build offline folders from Pinterest boards. Saving the largest image for each pin keeps color and small text more readable than screenshots.

Image pins, product pins, and outbound links
Some pins show a preview image but send you to a shop or blog. You can still download the preview Pinterest hosts. You do not get the merchant’s full gallery from that one pin.
